..Outfit..
Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking. You now see the seatbelt light is coming on. Please put your seatbelt on and prepare to land. We are now at the Lincoln Memorial Airport. Said the voice over the speaker.
Jill West sighed and buckled her seat belt. She sat back in her seat and tapped her fingers on the arm rest as the plane dipped down and finally touched land. The plane coasted and soon stopped at a boarding dock. The seat belt sign turned off. People got up and grabbed their things from the overhead compartment. Jill grabbed her messenger bag and her sliver cane before following the long line of people off of the plane. She sighed with relief when she broke away from the large crowd. She hated being around lots of people, it made her nervous. Jill stopped and looked around. She shoved her tan cowboy hat onto her head and continued to look. Where was the luggage? Ah! There it was!
Jill hurried toward it, as fast as she could since she was limping. She always ended up limping after sitting down for a long time. But after a while of walking or stretching she wouldn't have to limp until she had worked too hard. Jill ignored the stares as she moved as fast as she could with a cane. She just rolled her chocolate brown eyes and saw her luggage. She smiled and grabbed it. Jill set it down and pulled out the long handle, thankfully her suitcase had wheels. She took off and headed in the direction of the pets. She needed to get her big oaf of a dog, Max. He was a black and white Great Dane.
A rare smile appeared on the brunette's lips as her dog came into view. The great dane was struggling with two custom guys. Each one had a hold of the leash and Max still seemed to be able to drag them. Jill whistled and Max stopped barking and pulling. He looked in her direction, whined and sit down with his tail wagging. She smiled and hurried over to him. Sorry. She said and took the leather leash from the two guys. They shook their heads. One started to walk off, the other stopped to say something. "He's your problem now." He said and hurried off. Jill frowned and rolled her eyes. Max had always been her problem and he acted perfectly fine with her.
Max whined and licked his owner's hand. Jill smiled and patted his head. Let's get out of here. She whispered. She began walking/limping off with Max following right beside her. They pushed through all the big crowds and finally reached the spinning glass doors. Jill picked up her suitcase and pushed through one with Max following behind. Once on the outside she let out a sigh and found a bench to sit on. Man, it had been an exciting day so far. Jill leaned against the back of the bench as Max sat beside her on the bench. People passed and gave Jill dirty looks. She just frowned back. What? Could a dog not sit on a bench around here? Was it illegal? Oh well, she would find out sooner or later. Jill cleared her throat and closed her eyes. Rest.

"Damn I'm so tired," Adam mumbled, walking slowly, palms crushing into his face as if trying to rub away the need for sleep. All night long he had been running. Someone else's shoulder collided with his, and Adam whipped around, glaring. "Watch it will ya!" The other man merely ignored him, anger flaring inside Adam. Muttering to himself he continued walking, every now and then taking a hand and running it down against his eyes.
A hand reached up to push the black strands back, exhaling loudly. People walking to move around him glared, but he ignored them. Women and children. Their anger wouldn't result in anything physical. Maybe a lecture, but those were easily forgotten, and it wouldn't leave a mark.
He sang quietly, fingers unbuttoning the top two of his button up shirt, licking his lips. Out of nowhere he heard shouting, eyes widening and feet moving faster instantly. "Shit, shit, shit," he repeated, checking once over his shoulder.
Down the sidewalk he sped until he spotted a bench. There was already a woman, but none the less he sprinted off the sidewalk, sitting down quietly next to her, leaning forward slightly, hair blocking his face. Several men ran by, and Adam's hand moved to his knife. Yeah, he probably shouldn't have it public, but it was better to have it and get caught than to die.
When they ignored him, simply speeding by and speaking loudly to each other, his entire body relaxed for a moment before he stood. Then.. he noticed the dog. He growled quietly, moving back. Shit, that's a huge dog! He thought, looked to the woman, unbelieving that she could handle that thing on her own. Then again, he had seen much, much bigger canine.. things. All his movement was done in near silence.. too many times had he been forced to practice such movement.
The dog's scent mingled with another canine scent, but he couldn't tell if it had been with another dog or if the chick might be a gifted. Either way, both scents didn't really bring that many pleasant thoughts and memories. The shouting was already coming back his way, and he grimaced, moving to the end of the bench, and sat down in the same position. This time they moved more slowly, glancing once or twice in Adam's direction. Each time his body tensed, but forced himself to relax. Go away, go away, go.. now. And they did. This time Adam didn't move off the bench, ignoring everything around him and trying to think clearly.
{Notes: Erm.. sorry for his swearing. He does that. >< And I just assumed the dog was big. Looked like a great dane in the picture xD If not, I can change my post.}

Jill opened her eyes when she heard yelling. She frowned and sat up on the wooden bench. Max whined and sniffed the air. The brunette looked around the crowded area. She saw a black haired man running, this way. It seemed that people were chasing him. People in suits? Was it the government? What was it about this place that she had read and it had put red flags up? Ah, yes. The government were chasing gifteds. That wasn't good. Why had she still come? Her thoughts were shattered when the black haired man sat next to Max.
Max perked his ears forward and whined. He looked at the man. She watched as he leaned forward and his mass amount of black locks hid his face. She watched him closely and noticed his hand was moving for something. Was it a weapon? That brought red flags up and Jill began reaching for her bag slowly. She was going to grab her Colt M1911 which was hidden in her bag. Wait.....no it wasn't. She was having it mailed here because she would be in jail right now if she had tried to take it on the plane without a badge of some sorts. Dang. Jill put her hands in her lap and watched as the people chasing the man ran past him without even noticing. Ignorant people.
Jill raised a brown eyebrow and turned her cowboy hat clad head to look at the man. He had just stood up and he was looking at Max, then her. A small smirk slithered onto her lips. He was probably wondering how she could control such a big dog. It was easy. Trust. Love. Praise. Authority. Just that simple. She raised an eyebrow and her brown eyes scanned his own. They showed nothing. But her canine senses told her that there was more than meets the eye. Curse that old saying. Jill's ears perked up when she heard the shouting. Again. The man sat back down at the end of the bench. The same people appeared and looked around. Jill watched the man as he tensed up each time they looked his way. Then they were gone. Jill looked over at the man. Do they have a bone to pick with your or what? She asked. It wasn't a joke, just a question.

He didn't move at the sound of the woman's voice, only sighed quietly, studying the texture of his dark jeans, chewing on his bottom lip. There were gone. He was sure of it, but still.. they were so close. How had they not seen him? Idiots. Well, maybe they couldn't recognize him since when they were chasing him, it was dark. Still. They were idiots anyway. "They have a bone to pick with almost everyone around here," he spoke, looking up, hands gripping his knees tightly.
Lips were pressed firmly into a line, eyes moving over her, studying her. If she was gifted, she probably had some kind of weapon. It wasn't too hard for Adam to pick another gifted out of a crowd, but some were good at keeping themselves safe. I've been here too long.. "Who knows. Pretty soon they might have one with you." Silently he wondered if she would get the underlying message in his words. She seemed like a gifted to him, but if she wasn't, she'd probably just blow the comment off. Or maybe she would anyway.
"Are you new here or something? Because, not to be rude, but most people here are used to those guys by now." Brows raised, rubbing his right eye for a moment, sleepiness tugging at his eyelids. If she was gifted, he'd have to help her.. or she'd probably get herself killed. He mentally groaned at the thought. Then again, maybe she wouldn't accept his help, and he'd be free! Gaze flickered over to across the street where the group of men piled into two cars, driving seperate ways. Damn. They'd probably be headed towards the main parts of town where Adam roamed. Maybe even Liv's house.
Body tensed again, as if ready to attack, but remembering the dog he relaxed wondering if her dog was the kind that attacked people. Eyes moved to the dog briefly before back to the woman. Damn thing. Muscles tensed as one of their cars passed by, and heard them taking a left. They were going back to town..

Max tilted his head to the side when the man sighed. He whined and looked at the man with curiosity. Jill gave a small smile and patted the dog's back. Her chocolate brown gaze moved over to the man. Then he began speaking. So it was the govrnement. They have a bone to pick with almost everybody here. Is what the man said. She nodded and thought this over. This meant she was going to have to be more careful than she had first planned. Maybe living here wasn't such a good idea.
An eyebrow raised when the guy looked at her again, he seemed to be studying her. Then he spoke once more. Pretty soon they might have one with you. Jill nodded slightly. Knowing her it would be pretty soon. I don't doubt that. If I act like my normal grumpy self they'll have plenty of bones to pick with me. She said and looked away. This time she sighed and rubbed Max's back for comfort. Max licked his nose and adjusted his weight before sitting still once more. He looked at his owner and nudged her. Jill smiled and patted him.
Then the guy asked if she was new or something. That kicked in her smart ass comments. She raised an eyebrow and looked at him. He was looking at her, waiting for an answer. Of course. She shook her head slightly and let out a sigh before replying. Did the suitcase give it away or are you just that good of a guesser? She asked and a smirk slowly appeared on her face. But it quickly disappeared when she heard car doors opening and slamming shut. She turned her head to watch the guys from earlier getting in and driving away. One even drove past. She heard something coming from it. Something about going left.

He shrugged, looking back to the street. "Then you're no different than most people around here." No one's ever happy anymore. There are so many unnatural deaths. Crime rate is almost higher than anywhere else in the United States. He listed off the worst he could think of about Irvine in his head. Why would anyone want to live here?
Did the suitcase give it away or are you just that good of a guesser?
Eyes narrowed before he looked back at her, eyes becoming more neutral as he stared. "For all I know you could've been on vacation. Plus, I was kind of busy trying to not get my ass in trouble." He exhaled, rubbing his face again, blinking a few times. He barely felt like he was awake. "Sorry for being an ass. I haven't been sleeping well lately." What was the point of being a cranky ass to the new girl in town?
They're going to find the others.. His mind kept forcing various thoughts and images into his mind, and he couldn't shake them off. He had to get back into town. Maybe even hurt a few of those damned government guys. "Well, if you want I can show you around," he said, standing up and facing her. "I don't usually get the chance to meet new people." He smiled slightly, pushing his hair out of his face with his right hand, eyes adjusting to the light as the strands were moved backwards.

Jill nodded and watched as he looked out at the street again. She sighed and sat up a little bit straighter. Max wagged his tail as another dog walked by, making a loud thumping sound against the wooden bench. Jill chuckled and patted her dog on the head. He was such a sweet heart. Then the guy turned to her to answer her smart ass comment. For all I know you could've been on vacation. Plus, I was kind of busy trying to not get my ass in trouble. She nodded and smiled a little bit. It was true, she could have been going on vacation. But she wasn't lucky enough for something as grand as that.
She watched as he let out a breath and rubbed his face. That was when she noticed how tired she was. How come she hadn't noticed before? Maybe it was because of all the guys that were chasing him? Who knows, but she certainly did notice now. That was when he apologized for being an ass. Why was he being an ass? Because he hadn't been sleeping well lately. Of course. Jill nodded. It's all right. Perfectly understandable, I can see why you can't sleep. She said and nodded her head in the direction that the car had gone.
Jill's eyebrows raised in surprise at what he said next. He wanted to show her around? That was something she wasn't expecting to come out of his mouth anytime soon. At least not to her anyways. Then he stood up and faced her. She looked up at him and adjusted her tan cowboy hat to see him better. Max yawned and watched the man stand up as well. I don't usually get the chance to meet new people. Is what he said next. Jill pursed her lips and nodded. She shrugged. Why not? She asked and gave him a small smile. Then she stood up and grabbed her cane. Max wagged his tail and hopped off the bench to stand next to his owner. Jill slung her messenger bag over her shoulder and grabbed the handle of her suitcase. She turned to face the man to see what they would do next.

"Why not?" She said, and he nearly laughed. There were so many reasons why not to. One: He was being pursued by the government. Two: If they saw her with him things wouldn't be looking too great for her. Three: He could be one of the biggest asses in Irvine, and that was saying something. Four: Let's not keep going dearies.. Anyway, she agreed to it so technically he wasn't responsible for any damage done to her.
Her cane caught his eye, but he quickly broke his stare at it, and started walking. "Alright, let's go then." He led her downtown, bored by all the familiar buildings. "Library, couple places to eat right over there," he said, pointing at each building in turn. "I wouldn't eat anywhere else but at those ones. Everywhere else the food tastes like sh.. it sucks." He smiled sweetly at an older woman passing by who merely eyes him, looking like she wanted to give him a good lecture or two.
"Park's that way," he explained, leading her to the park's edge. One of their cars went by, actually going to speed limit. Lips curled into a smug grin as they went by. At least they didn't know what he looked like from the front. "Wonder who's all there.." he mumbled to himself, eyes fixed on the heavily wooded park. "Er.. anything else you'd like to see?" Top row of teeth bit into the bottom, eyebrows raised, ruffling his hair at the back of his head, left hand in his jean pocket.

Jill yawned and looked around. Then she felt the guy staring. She turned her gaze to him and saw that he was staring at her cane. Her gaze hardened immediately. What? Was he going to make fun of her too? Just because she had a cane? Because she needed a cane? Jill bit her lip and shook her head slightly. The boiling anger quickly passed and she planted a smile on her lips. Soon the man began moving. She nodded to Max and he began walking along side her as the guy showed them around.
He pointed out to various buildings. One she could tell was a library because it had lots of picture windows and you could see all the books inside of it from here. She moved along with the man. He pointed out some places to eat. He said to eat that these because the others' food tastes awful. Well he broke off before he cussed. Taste like shit, right? She finsihed for him with a smile. Jill shook her head and adjusted her cowboy hat. He didn't have to stop his cussing for her. She cussed a lot too and saw that there was nothing wrong with it. Unless there was a little kid around.
Max wagged his tail when the guy pointed out the park. Jill raised her eyebrows and loked it over. It was nice. A lot nicer than the park in Dover. Way bigger and there were more people there. Lots of kids playing on the jungle gyms. Jill smiled and looked at the guy again. He mumbled something under his breath but she couldn't understand it. Then he looked at her and asked if she wanted to see anything else. Jill pursed her lips and thought for a moment. Well, she was new here and didn't have a place to stay. Apartments? Homes for sale or maybe someone who wouldn't mind a room mate for a while? She suggested.

"Yeah," he said, grinning. Thank God she wasn't one of those chicks who screamed at him for every little freaking swear word. What was the big deal about it anyway? Just another way to express an emotion that some people found offensive.
Lips pursed, eyes moving up at the sky as he tried to think. Hell. When was the last time he ever had to look for homes for sale? Damn gifted camp. He spent too much time out in the wild. "Um, well.. all the good apartments are taken." The ones farthest away from the park and the forests, he added in his head. "Houses are pretty expensive unless you want a shitty one." Gaze moved back to her. "I know someone who has a pretty nice house and she's looking for a roomate. One that won't trash the place.. but she isn't there a lot so it'd be like you had your own house. She's pretty well off too, so you probably wouldn't even have to pay." The only place he knew of that wasn't full of government assholes or paranoia about the gifted.
"The only thing is.. she's pretty protective of her... equipment." Nose wrinkled, thinking about all the gear for the band. Was it really a good idea to offer a home to a stranger? Well.. it wasn't like she'd steal anything. "Or, I can help you look for something decent."

Jill chuckled again when he agreed with her interruption. She looked down at Max who was whining and watching as a squirrel ran up a tree, He instantly stopped whining when the squirrel was out of sight. He licked his lips and looked up at his owner. Jill smiled and patted his head. She then turned her attention to the guy when he started talking about homes. Dang. The good apartments were taken. Houses were too expensive, except for shitty ones. Of course, it was like that everywhere.
Her hopes were sinking lower when he finally said that he knew someone who had a house, was nice and wouldn't mind a room mate. Jill smiled. It sounded perfect already. She was about to accept when the guy added something. She was protective of her......equipment? What did that mean? Oh well. She didn't care, why would she want to mess with someone's else's equipment? That was called being nosy and possibly, in some cases, stealing. Jill did neither and hated both. She wouldn't like people messing with her equipment so she wouldn't bother this person's.
It sounds perfect. Oh and don't worry about your friend's equipment. Back home I was pretty grumpy when someone touched my horse equipment without permission. I understand and so I won't touch hers without her consent. Jill said and smiled. She looked at him and waited for an answer. Max barked at a couple of dogs and she shushed him.

"It sounds perfect. Oh and don't worry about your friend's equipment. Back home I was pretty grumpy when someone touched my horse equipment without permission. I understand and so I won't touch hers without her consent."
Adam nodded, looking into each passing car, hoping that they hadn't made it to any gifted's house. Out of the ones they know of.. which weren't too many considering it was really dangerous to live in town. Idiots. "Okay.. So, I'll let her know later. She won't care. Do you want me to show you or should I just give you the address?"
Muscles twitched in anticipation, teeth digging into his bottom lip. Damn, I hate helping people. They always need it at the worst time possible. He sighed, quite loudly I might add, and crossed his arms to try and keep himself from moving. "Oh, and it's a bigger house so you can have your pick out of any of the empty rooms. The only rooms off limits will have something on the door, but that's only for her room and a couple other people's rooms. Plus the rooms where all her stuff is." Wow. This must sound really weird to her. He almost laughed, but the anxiety and paranoia were too strong.
"Just so you're not paranoid or anything, it's just guitar equipment and stuff like that." How he hated being gifted. He would give it all up just to be with Ethan and Liv.. For it to be like the good days when it was them and the band. Damn gifted crap. Sighing a little more quietly, he rubbed his eyes, recrossing his arms again after.

He'd let her know later. Good. Jill nodded to show that she had heard him. Then he asked if she wanted the address or if she wanted him to show her. She looked at him and thought for a moment. She was about to speak when he cut her off. He was explaining the house situations. She listened and nodded in all the right spots. He was talking about the rooms that were private, they had things on the doors to tell you so. She nodded. That made sense.
Jill looked at him again when he told her that the 'equipment' was just guitar stuff. Ah, that made more sense. She smiled and nodded. Cool, guitars. Woohoo. She watched his expression. He seemed to be gritting his teeth. She was also smelling anxiety coming from him. What was the matter? Did he not want to help her anymore? If that was the case then she would just take the address and go. In fact she defiantly thought that that was a good idea. Jill gave him a small smile. Her anger was beginning to rear its ugly head. If she was that annoying to him then she would just leave.
That make sense. How about just giving me the address. You seem to be in a.......hurry. She said with a slight pause before the 'hurry'. It was as if she was searching for the right word. In fact she was. She bit her bottom lip and pushed the anger down farther and farther into it's dark hole. She didn't need to release it on someone who had actually helped her, some what.

"That make sense. How about just giving me the address. You seem to be in a.......hurry."
Lips pursed again as Adam looked up from the ground beneath his feet. Shit. What were the numbers? 159 East 315th Street? No.. that didn't even make sense. "1596 East 115th Street," he said, pulling a sharpie out of his pocket and a piece of paper. He didn't hold it out for her to take, only staring at the numbers. What if she dropped it and they found it? It was his handwriting.. they had plenty of samples of that to match it to. Then they'd know whoever lived there would probably be gifted too, or just someone to use as bait. Fuck.
He could sense she was getting pissed, so he relaxed somewhat, breathing evenly. "Ah.. sorry if I seem like an ass. It's just those guys- who were chasing me, they're looking for me and I'm getting really paranoid." Maybe, as long as I burn the sharpie they can't match fingerprints and I'm safe! "Here," he held out the paper for her to leave or take. If she didn't want a visual aid, then he could just burn it.

Jill watched as he produced a piece of paper and a sharpie from his pocket. He said it aloud too before writing it down. She began to stick her hand out to take it when he finished but he seemed to have zoned out for a second. He was thinking. Really hard. Jill frowned and waited for him to come back to reality. Then he took a deep breath and let it out before speaking. She raised an eyebrow and listened to him.
He was sorry for being an ass? Apology accepted. Then he started talking about those guys who were chasing him earlier today. Ah, yes. The ever evil government. She shrugged and let out a sigh when he said that he was becoming paranoid. She understood, well as much as someone who was in her position could anyway. All she really knew though that if she was him she would probably be paranoid too. Especially since the government had an advantage on her. They could run. Faster and longer than she could. Stupid leg. Finally he handed her the paper. She smiled and took it. Don't worry about it and thank you. She said.
